2009 Swim Camp Day 3

This is our last full day, the seniors were giving each other high fives, realizing it was their final dry land at training camp, and no more running stairs at IUPUI.  The distance kids went 10,000 yards in just the morning practice, and the sprinters did an 8,000 yard sprint set.  The text the chaperones received today, said “they are toasted.”  A highlight was Daniel Schmitz getting a national time in the 1000, with 6 kids in his lane. (no this does not count in case you were wondering)  This afternoon practice was consisted of 80 x 50’s, which the coaches defined as a recovery practice, with one swimmer saying “That was recovery.”

Famous quotes of the day:

“I considered calling a taxi to go home last night.”

“Way to save up Sally.”

“We are too tired for funny quotes.”

“I feel like a 10 year old doing the butterfly, I am back to hating the butterfly.”

“I hate fins, putting on fins makes you work harder.”

Two more spills at lunch today, (yes Mrs. Myszka it was your daughter again) and the other was that National time person, who was trying to balance, 3 bowls on a Styrofoam plate, as to only make one trip to the food room which is directly across the hall from his room.  Both swimmers blamed their muscle twitching limbs on their spills.  The advil and Tylenol have been flowing freely for the last 24 hours.
