Siobhan's January Newsletter

Hi Again everyone. Just a quick update on things at the pool. We are winding up the winter season. And I want to remind everyone that you must have competed in at least three meets to be eligible for the Championship A, or AA meet. The Middletown meet is in two weeks. Then we have our meet, and possibly one other one day meet at SPY. Please be sure you get in if you haven’t been in three meets yet. Swimmers are working very hard this month and it will be likely they will be tired and sore when they come home. Please be sure you are dressing appropriately and getting enough sleep so that you don’t get run down or sick. Parents, please be sure to sign up for the workers slots at the KEY meet. We need every family to help out to make this a successful meet.

I have been negligent in updating our swimmers of the week this past month so I want to award recognize two swimmers in each group for their work. White group swimmer of the week for last week in December is Mathew Stuber. Mathew is a workhorse who is always ready to give 100% during practice, even in backstroke his least favorite!~ This week’s swimmer of the week is Nina Weber. She has really started to try to work on technique and it is showing in practice sets. Good job.

Red group swimmer for last week in December was Jordan Miller. Jordan has really stepped up her work level in practice during our hardest time of the year. Super! This week swimmer of the week is  Duncan Everett. Duncan did a great job at this past weekends meet in the 500 free and dropped significant time in his other events.

Finally, be on the lookout for information about the spaghetti dinner. We are currently trying to find a place to host it. It is a  great way to get swimmers motivated for Championships. We are thinking about doing Championship shirts for Red and White group.   More information to come! There will be a small fee for shirts.
